Summary St Kilda have run into the eight on the back of three straight wins and signalled their plans to be a part of the September fun so the challenge for Hawthorn is to quell their enthusiasm ahead of tough games against the likes of Geelong and Collingwood. Both teams can boast some big names up forward, although Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead are likely to kick bigger bags than Justin Koschitzke and Nick Riewoldt. Hawthorn's crucial midfield machine is spluttering at the moment though with doubts over the fitness of Chance Bateman, Shane Crawford and Jordan Lewis. St Kilda have dominated recent games between the two, winning five of the past six.
Key Lance Franklin had 14 scoring shots last week and was criticised for kicking 4.7. If he's out to atone for that the Saints will be hoping Max Hudghton can repeat the job he did last week on Carlton's Brendan Fevola
