Mark Coughlan (Richmond)hamstringThe Tiger star's wretched run with injury continued with another hamstring tear during the week at training. He will go to Germany for assessment and treatment. He would hope to play late in the season.
Luke Hodge (Hawthorn)appendixThe Hawk midfielder was going to miss a couple more weeks with a hamstring injury so his appendix surgery on Thursday should not affect his return in round 10.
Brent Guerra (Hawthorn)hamstringWill be out for at least three weeks.
Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn)concussionKnocked out early in the game at Launceston. Carried off on a stretcher but returned later in the game so should be OK for this week.
Alan Obst (North Melbourne)chestBroken ribs and a punctured lung will keep him out for about four weeks. Unable to fly home so was driven back yesterday.
Michael Jamison (Carlton)shoulderPlaying well when injured in the third term and had to come off. In doubt for this week.
Tadhg Kennelly (Sydney)kneeDislocated his patella (kneecap). Had a similar injury last year and missed only two games. Will be hoping this injury requires no more than that, but likely to need surgery at the end of the season.
Kris Massie (Adelaide)hamstringLate withdrawal with hamstring soreness. Should be OK this week.
