1. A perfectly timed tap from Victorian ruckman Josh Fraser to Brent Harvey at a stoppage just before the first break leads to Harvey's first goal and cuts the margin to 15 points after the Dream Team skipped out to a 22-point lead.
2. Dream Team forward and Hawthorn spearhead Lance Franklin leaves Darren Milburn and Hawks' teammate Trent Croad in his wake as he runs into an open goal, kicks truly and stretches his side's lead to 16 points 20 minutes into the first term.
3. Victorian forward Brendan Fevola takes a spectacular one-handed mark as the Dream Team's Matthew Richardson closes in on him late in the opening term. Fevola's goal after the siren cuts the margin to 10 points and brings a huge roar from the home crowd.
4. Victorian and Geelong star Steve Johnson goals late in the second quarter after wheeling around onto his right boot and sends the ball deep into the crowd at the city end of the ground, stretching Victoria's lead to eight points.
5. Chris Judd dishes off a long handball from the middle of the ground to Victorian teammate Heath Shaw, whose kick to Paul Chapman sets up Fevola's fourth goal. Chapman's spearing kick is marked on the 50-metre arc by a diving Fevola, whose set shot from the boundary registers Victoria's 12th goal.
6. Richardson's eyes light up as dual premiership player Andrew McLeod races deep into attack and drills the ball into the Tiger champion's outstretched hands. Richardson's set shot at goal cuts Victoria's lead to one point.
7. Scores are tied eight minutes into the last quarter with Fevola's fifth goal. After Robert Murphy takes a strong contested mark and quickly handballs to Sam Mitchell, the Hawthorn skipper spots the leading Fevola, who levels the score at 105 points each.
8. Victoria jumps out to a 10-point lead midway through the final term after Fevola marks strongly between two Dream Team players and kicks his sixth goal.
9. After the Dream Team claws back to within a kick, Victorian captain Jonathan Brown steps up to kick his third goal and swing the momentum back to Victoria.
10. Franklin's fourth goal, coming from a set shot outside 50 metres puts the Dream Team back within a goal, before Harvey's third goal pushes Victoria's lead back out to two goals in the dying stages.
