STAR Brisbane Lions onballer Luke Power looks a certain starter for his side's finals-shaping clash with Richmond tonight after shrugging off concerns over a shoulder injury yesterday.
Power, who did not train with his Lions teammates in Brisbane on Wednesday, trained without hindrance yesterday in Melbourne ahead of the clash with the Tigers at Telstra Dome.
Lions coach Leigh Matthews gave Power a glowing assessment and left little doubt he would be fit enough to take his place as the two sides battle for a berth inside the top eight.
"We didn't think he was going to be OK, but he trained yesterday afternoon and did a fitness test," Matthews said.
"He'll run around tonight, so I would have thought he's 99% now.
"It seems like it (he's fit)."
Both teams had spies in the stands at their respective sessions yesterday Matthews admitting he had sent someone to watch Richmond train in the morning.
Tigers assistant coach David King attended the Lions' session at Junction Oval in the afternoon in return, as both sides press for a win that could have huge finals ramifications.
The Lions have brought back hard-running midfielder Jed Adcock for the match, while the Tigers welcome back talisman Matthew Richardson after two matches out with a hamstring injury.
Richardson was in career-best form before his injury, and has again been named on a wing.
Brisbane is one of the few sides to have regularly struggled against Richmond in recent years, losing three of its past four matches and drawing the other.
But Matthews dismissed any suggestion of his side having a Richmond or Victorian hoodoo, despite losing four of its five matches in Victoria in 2008.
"We beat Carlton down here earlier in the year, Melbourne beat us by a point, the Bulldogs have been beating most teams and Essendon, who are in pretty good shape, beat us the other week," Matthews said.
"I think you can get a bit carried away with all that.
"We're confident at the venue. The home team's always a little advantaged but it doesn't make a monstrous difference between winning and losing."
