PORT Adelaide premiership star Peter Burgoyne has been suspend by the players leadership group for one week, after he turned up in an "unfit manner" for training a month ago.
Burgoyne has been out since round 14 with a hamstring injury and was expected to bolster the struggling Power's line-up this week. Instead, the 221-game veteran will be playing for the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL.
Port's leadership group, which includes Burgoyne's younger brother, Shaun, said Burgoyne would serve his suspension once he was deemed fit enough to return to AFL football.
Port also announced the re-signing of forward Brett Ebert on a new three-year deal yesterday.
Nathan Thompson has been left out of North Melbourne's side for a second consecutive week and will not play this weekend because the club's VFL team, Werribee, has a bye. Jess Sinclair, Blake Grima, Leigh Brown, Matt Riggio were named in the Kangaroos 25-man squad, while Ben Ross (ankle) will miss.
James McDonald returns for Melbourne and ruckman Jeff White has been named on the bench.
Matthew Richardson is back for Richmond along with Daniel Jackson, but Cleve Hughes and Dean Polo are out.
Jed Adcock and Justin Sherman have been added to the Brisbane Lions' line-up to take on the Tigers.
Sydney has selected Barry Hall after his AFL Tribunal and club-imposed suspensions, while Nick Malceski is back after a calf strain. But, the Swans have lost Leo Barry and Michael O'Loughlin with a hamstring and ankle injury respectively.
Collingwood forward Leon Davis returns from his ankle injury.
And injury-crippled Essendon regains veteran key defender Dustin Fletcher.
