BRENDAN Fevola has declared he will not sign with Carlton next year if the club offers him a one-year contract.

But while the star full-forward, who will play his 150th game this weekend against the Brisbane Lions, was forthright in rejecting another deal for one year before it was floated, he appeared confident he would not be offered such a deal.

"I won't be signing a one-year deal — there's no way," he said on Channel Nine's The Footy Show last night. "… but they're not going to offer me a one-year deal.

"I love Carlton. Carlton's been my home since I was 17, so hopefully they'll put something in front of me and I accept and we can move on because there's no other club I want to play for — footy will take care of it, hopefully."

Fevola, who is out of contract at the end of this season, was signed to a one-year contract this season after he was caught urinating on a nightclub window. A condition of his continued employment at Carlton was that he not be involved in another alcohol-related misdemeanour. The club also stated at the start of the year that contract negotiations with Fevola would not begin until he had demonstrated he had dealt with his alcohol issues.

Blues coach Brett Ratten said this week that Fevola should be offered a contract longer than one year.
