ST KILDA midfielder Luke Ball has revealed injured West Coast captain Chris Judd quizzed him about any "magic tricks" he might have for treating groin problems.
Judd, who sat out most of the last term at Telstra Dome on Friday night against the Saints, has a similar groin complaint to the one that has plagued Ball since last season.
"I have got a fair bit of empathy with 'Juddy'," Ball said on radio station SEN yesterday.
"I was speaking to him a couple of times on the phone in recent weeks initially, he contacted me just asking if I had any magic tricks or anything for him, to get him better."
Judd finished with nine disposals and four marks on Friday night, spending much of his time on the ground playing close to goal. His movement looked restricted and he lacked pace. His coach John Worsfold said after the game Judd could be rested from next week's round-22 game against Essendon at Subiaco.
After losing midfielder Daniel Kerr during the week following surgery on his finger, the Eagles went into Friday's match with questions over their midfield potency.
Jason Blake kept Brownlow medallist Ben Cousins quiet until half-time, but in the second half, Cousins led the Eagles' resurgence, finishing with 28 disposals and was among the Eagles' best players in the eight-point victory.
■Scans yesterday revealed St Kilda's Jayden Attard received a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the third quarter on Friday night. The 21-year-old will have reconstructive surgery this week.
Eagles forward Ashley Hansen, who left the ground late in the game, will have scans on his injured hamstring tomorrow.
