Former Bomber Mark Johnson has announced his retirement from the AFL, bringing to five the number of Dockers to have announced their retirement in 2008.

Johnson, who crossed from Essendon to Fremantle at the end of last year, will play the final two games of the season, against Richmond and Collingwood, before hanging up the boots for good, joining Peter Bell, Matthew Carr, Heath Black and Shaun McManus as others at Fremantle to have retired this season.

"Mark has always had an amazing will to win and a great depth of character," Dockers coach Mark Harvey said.

"He's always had the ability to play well in big matches and do big jobs on the best small forwards going round but then be able to go forward and kick goals."

Johnson, 30, made his debut in 1999 for the Bombers and has notched 206 games.

He won a premiership with the Bombers in 2000 and won the club's best and fairest award in 2002.
