ESSENDON speedster Alwyn Davey will miss today's Anzac Day clash with Collingwood after injuring his right knee at training yesterday.

Davey, who was an important player in last year's game, injured himself during a running drill.

Essendon team manager David Calthorpe said Davey would have scans on Monday.

"It's unfair to speculate on what he has done, but based on initial tests, we are quite concerned," Calthorpe said in a statement on the club's website last night.

Davey's replacement will come from emergencies Damien Peverill, Darcy Daniher or Nathan Lovett-Murray — the latter dropped from the side that lost to St Kilda last week.
