AFL legend David Parkin has declared West Coast's premiership window closed after the departure of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins.

The four-times premiership coach said rigid salary-cap and draft restrictions had consigned West Coast to a period of rebuilding.

He said the Eagles could again be a power but had to recognise their plight and rebuild. "There's no option for them," Parkin said. "… They're struggling a bit in the midfield because the two best midfielders the competition has seen in the past few years are no longer available."
