Ben Cousins has confirmed he will train with WAFL clubs East Fremantle and Perth in the coming weeks, before an intended move to Melbourne.

A statement from Cousins's management today said the fomer Eagle was still unsure whether he would play football again this year, but did intend to start training.

The media release from Flying Start International said until the former West Coast captain moves east he will train with former WAFL club East Fremantle and the Perth Demons.

"As indicated on Channel 9's The Footy Show last night (Thursday 26th June), Ben Cousins has yet to decide if he will play football this year, but he will register with VFL club Port Melbourne to keep his options open in the hope of a return to the AFL in 2009," the statement said.

"As Ben will not be relocating to Melbourne until later this year he will commence training in Western Australia with WAFL clubs Perth and East Fremantle in the next few weeks.

"While Ben is already aligned with the East Fremantle Football Club he requested the opportunity to also train with the Perth Football Club due to a long-term family involvement.

"The East Fremantle Football Club continues to be very supportive of Ben and they have agreed to his request to train at both clubs."

Cousins thanked the Sharks for their support.

"I am grateful to the East Fremantle Football Club for their support and understanding to allow me to train with both the East Fremantle Football Club and Perth Football Club while in Western Australia," Cousins said.
