MONDAY night's Brownlow Medal count helped Channel Seven grab more television viewers than Nine and Ten combined.

The telecast peaked at 1.76 million viewers, with an average of 1.39 million tuning in across the country. That figure — a quarter more than last year's audience — was despite the telecast being delayed in Sydney and Brisbane.

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire was at the count, while only 798,000 viewers watched him hosting game show 1 vs 100 on Nine.

A Red Carpet fashion special before the count drew 1.24 million viewers nationally, 776,000 in Melbourne.
