THE Kangaroos plan to go all-out against Geelong on Sunday, coach Dean Laidley said yesterday.
Laidley said his side could not afford to hold anything back against the premiership favourite, despite the fact that they were likely to come up against each other again in the first week of the finals.
"If we want to end up fourth we've probably got to win these next two games, and I don't think we can afford to keep any of our powder dry," Laidley said.
However, Laidley suggested that the Cats, who were an unassailable four games ahead of the competition on the ladder, might feel as though they were in a position to take a few chances.
"They've got three or four that have been out do they play them, do they give them the extra week to make sure that they're right?" he said.
With Brownlow favourite Gary Ablett back in form after spending three weeks out with an ankle injury, Laidley said his side would have to be wary of the impact of the midfield star.
"We'll probably do things a little bit differently to what we did last time," Laidley said, referring to their round-11 clash when the Roos sought to curtail Ablett's influence by corralling him out of the play instead of tackling him. It did not work, and Ablett starred with 39 possessions and two goals. "I'm sure we'll have some plans (to stop him)," Laidley said.
■Fremantle will be forced to limp through the last fortnight of the season after another two players fell victim to the club's injury curse.
Antoni Grover had shoulder surgery yesterday and fellow defender Brock O'Brien, 20, may also go under the knife after injuring his wrist in the WAFL last weekend.
