Geelong have officially given up on enticing Nathan Ablett to play on, delisting the reluctant Cat from their senior list.
Ablett, who starred in the club's historic premiership in 2007, did not play a game this year and a lack of motivation cut short his AFL career.
The brother of midfield star Gary Ablett Jr walked away from football at the end of last year, but the club had hoped a training run with the club's VFL team this season would rekindle his desire to play again.
But Ablett told the club last month he was not interested in adding to his 32-game, 46-goal career and would move to far north east Queensland to pursue a career in the building industry.
Geelong also delisted midfielder Jason Davenport from the senior list and Liam Bedford and Chris Kangars from the rookie list.
Davenport spent last year on the Cats' rookie list before being elevated to the senior list for this season.
But he failed to play an AFL game despite wining the club's VFL best and fairest this year, after playing in the 2007 Cats' VFL premiership team.
Neither Bedford nor Kangars played an AFL match.
