Sydney's Adam Goodes says he considers himself a South Australian but will happily wear the Victorian jumper in Saturday night's Hall of Fame tribute match at the MCG.

The two-time Brownlow Medallist has bounced back to form in the past fortnight following a sluggish start to the season by his high standards.

Goodes said he was eligible to play for Victoria and not the Dream Team because he played all of his junior football in Victoria after moving across from SA at the age of 13.

"I am just happy to be involved whether it is for Victoria or the Dream Team, to play State of Origin or a game like it is a great opportunity," he said.

"It might be the last opportunity that us players get."
